The Torri di Fraele stand above the Lago di Cancano reservoir in the upper Valtellina near the Swiss border. A short walk from the car park reaches the towers with views over the water and the surrounding Ortles-Cevedale peaks. The place is little-visited despite being extraordinarily photogenic.
