Former gravel quarries along the Esino river near Jesi have been restored into wetland habitat, and a reintroduction program has re-established breeding white storks here, with nesting platforms visible from the trails. Herons, kingfishers, and a wide range of waterfowl use the ponds and reedbeds alongside them. It's an easy, flat outing popular with local families and school groups.
