Riserva del Pantano di Bojano, Molise
Molise
The Pantano di Bojano is a spring-fed wetland complex at the foot of the Matese massif — the most important freshwater wetland in Molise. Purple heron, night heron, great white egret and little egret all use the reedbed. In spring (March–April) little bittern can be heard calling. The springs emerging from the Matese calcarenite feed the marsh at a constant temperature. Dogs on leash on the perimeter path.
