Cava Grande del Cassibile

The Cava Grande del Cassibile is a 10 km canyon cut 300 m deep in the Hyblaean limestone plateau. The descent reaches emerald river pools perfect for swimming, with ancient rock-cut Bronze Age tombs (necropoli) visible in the canyon walls. This is the most spectacular natural gorge in eastern Sicily.
