Riserva WWF Lago Preola e Gorghi Tondi, Mazara del Vallo

The "Gorghi Tondi" are three near-circular lakes formed where the ground collapsed into cavities, plus the larger, seasonal Lago Preola — set among dunes, reed and Aleppo pine on the south-west coast. A flat path with hides circles them, busy with ducks, herons, and passage warblers, with pond turtles in the water.
