The Grotta Monello is a richly decorated cave — stalactites, gour pools, a specialised invertebrate fauna — sealed as an integral reserve, but the surrounding Cava del Carosello is open: a shallow limestone canyon of dwarf palm, carob and Euphorbia with an easy path and a view of the cave mouth.
