Riserva Naturale Fossiata

This reserve preserves one of the best remaining stands of mature Pinus laricio in the Sila, with some trees estimated at well over a century old, alongside beech woodland typical of the plateau's higher slopes. An interpretive nature trail with panels explains the forest ecology and the pine's historical use in Calabrian shipbuilding. Red squirrels and woodpeckers are commonly spotted along the path.
