Riserva Naturale della Vauda

The Vauda is a wedge of acid heathland, birch scrub and seasonal ponds on a raised terrace between the Stura di Lanzo and the Malone, grazed and burned for centuries. Flat sandy tracks cross it with skylarks, harriers and a big-sky feel unusual for Piedmont; part is a military training area and fenced off.
