Riomaggiore, Cinque Terre

Riomaggiore is the last of the five Cinque Terre villages heading north from La Spezia, its single steep main street dropping between tall painted houses to a narrow inlet where fishing boats still pull up on the ramp. It anchors the southern end of the Sentiero Azzurro and the Via dell'Amore, both covered elsewhere in this guide, but the village itself — its harbour steps and the breakwater view back at the houses — is worth its own stop.
