From Pont a well-worn path climbs the Vallone di Moncorvé past cascades and the tree line to the aluminium-domed old refuge and its modern neighbour, set among boulders beside a small lake below the Gran Paradiso and Ciarforon. The oldest climbers' hut in the massif, and a classic hard day-walk.
