The Rifugio Quintino Sella (2,640 m) sits directly below the Monviso summit pyramid above a staircase of alpine lakes. The approach from Pian del Re (the Po river source) climbs through boulder fields and snowfields to a high camp used by Monviso summit parties. Views of the Po source lake are extraordinary.
