From the Vetan or Clou road a pasture path climbs steadily to the isolated summit of Chaligne, topped by a large iron cross. The reward is a 360° panorama taking in Mont Blanc, the Grandes Jorasses, the Grand Combin and, straight down, the city of Aosta.
