Grotte di Pradis, Clauzetto

The Grotte di Pradis near Clauzetto in the Friuli Prealps is a gorge cut through limestone with an Upper Palaeolithic rock shelter (18,000 years old) at the base — one of the most important Ice Age sites in northeastern Italy. The gorge walls descend 60 m above the Cosa torrent. Dippers and grey wagtail nest on the torrent. The museum in Clauzetto displays the finds.
