Portofino — Punta Carega Walk
Liguria
The Portofino promontory south face (away from the tourist village) is a rugged coast of holm oak, strawberry tree and maquis above vertical limestone cliffs. The walk from San Fruttuoso to Punta Carega and back via Nozarego is rarely used despite being 10 minutes from Portofino. Mediterranean monk seal was historically recorded on these cliffs. Peregrine and eagle owl both nest on the south face cliffs.
