The Area Marina Protetta di Porto Cesareo is a marine reserve on the Ionian coast of Salento protecting posidonia oceanica sea grass beds that are the nursery for the Ionian Sea fisheries. The sand dune coastline has one of the last sea turtle nesting beaches in Puglia. The water clarity is exceptional.
