Pontebba — Confine Italia-Austria

Until Austria's post-WWI territorial losses, Pontebba and its twin settlement Pontafel sat on opposite sides of the Italian-Austrian frontier, divided by a small stream still crossed by a bridge marking the old line. Walking between the two halves gives a tangible sense of a border that has shifted more than once in the last century.
