Rain has sculpted a bed of glacial moraine into a crowd of tall earthen spires, each protected from erosion by a granite boulder balanced on top — some over 30 m high. A short marked loop through the chestnut wood at Cislano gives the best views of the "hoodoos" and the Romanesque church of San Giorgio nearby.
