Pila Plateau Walks

Aosta Valley

Pila is a ski resort in winter and a flowery plateau in summer. The summer walking trails cross mountain meadows rich in orchids, gentian and globe flowers at 1,800–2,200 m. Marmots are so numerous and used to humans that they approach within 2 m. The panorama south over the whole Aosta basin and toward the Gran Paradiso is exceptional.
