Pietracamela
Abruzzo
Pietracamela sits at 1,000 m against the Teramo flank of the Gran Sasso, its houses built from and into the grey rock, linked by stepped alleys and tiny arched squares. Half-abandoned but slowly reviving, it is the historic base of the "Aquilotti" mountaineers and the gateway to Prati di Tivo.
