Piana di Marcesina
Veneto
Sitting above 1400m on the eastern edge of the Sette Comuni plateau, this broad basin of pasture and larch groves feels almost Nordic in scale. It was fought over in WWI and old trenches still crease the grass, while today it's grazed by cattle in summer and crossed by an easy network of gravel tracks popular with families and cyclists.
