The Voltigno is a broad upland meadow of sinkholes, springs and grazing horses, fringed by some of the finest beech woods in the Gran Sasso-Laga park. Flat tracks cross it toward the Fonte Nuova springs and the Guardiano bivouac, with wildflowers and orchids in June.
