Pialassa della Baiona & Pineta San Vitale

The Pineta San Vitale, sung by Dante and Byron, is a long strip of centuries-old pines and wet hollows behind the coast. It borders the Pialassa della Baiona, a maze of brackish channels and salt pans where flamingos, avocets and herons feed. Flat tracks and levee paths cross both.
