Perinaldo & the Cassini observatory hill
Liguria
Perinaldo runs along a narrow crest between the Nervia and Verbone valleys, its long single street opening to views on both sides. Giovanni Domenico Cassini was born here in 1625; a small modern observatory on the hill above the village makes the most of the dark ridge sky and wide horizons to the Alps and the sea.
