Passo Lanciano (1,306 m) above Guardiagrele on the Maiella east face gives access to the Majelletta plateau at 1,600 m — a natural terrace of beech forest and meadow with the Adriatic visible to the east and the Maiella summit (2,793 m) above. Chamois on the Maiella walls. Golden eagle. The Rifugio di Passo Lanciano is accessible by road — the plateau walk is one of the easiest in the Majella. Dogs off-leash.
