Passo Duran, Agordino

Veneto

Passo Duran (1,605 m) between the Agordino valley and Val Zoldana is one of the quietest Dolomite passes — forest and meadow below the south face of the Civetta (3,220 m, 'The Wall of the Dolomites'). The pass road is narrow and locals only. Capercaillie in the forest. Chamois on the Civetta wall. The meadow at the pass has an ancient malga (alp dairy). Dogs off-leash.
