Passo di Forca Caruso (1,731 m) is a high pass in the Mainarde mountains between Abruzzo and Molise — within the Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo. It is a primary wolf corridor between the two park zones. Apennine chamois graze the limestone grasslands. The beech forest below (1,300–1,600 m) is primeval — trees 200–300 years old. Marsican bear uses the pass in spring and autumn.
