Passo del Bocco
Liguria
Passo del Bocco has carried traffic between the Ligurian coast and the Po plain since Roman times, and though a paved road now crosses it, the surrounding beech ridges offer some of the region's most peaceful high-altitude walking away from the coastal crowds. Old drovers' paths branch off the pass toward isolated Apennine hamlets, some now largely abandoned. Wild mushroom foraging draws locals to these woods heavily each autumn.
