Passo dei Mandrioli

Tuscany

This pass links Tuscany to Romagna through the heart of the Foreste Casentinesi, one of Italy's oldest protected beech forests. Trails from here climb toward Poggio Scali and Monte Falterona, where the Arno river rises. Wolves have returned to these woods in recent decades, though sightings are rare.
