Lama Balice, Bari

Lama Balice is a dry karstic valley (lama) cutting through the Murge plateau into Bari — a 120-ha nature reserve inside the city limits with 35 orchid species, peregrine falcon and little owl. The lama is dry for most of the year but flows briefly after heavy rain. Blue rock thrush sings from the limestone walls in spring. The reserve is 5 minutes from Bari Palese airport.
