Sasso di Vigita, Pollino
Basilicata
The Basilicatan side of the Pollino park above Viggianello is far less visited than the Calabrian side. The Sasso di Vigita (1,609 m) ridge gives views of both the Ionian sea to the east and the Tyrrhenian to the west — the narrowest part of the Italian peninsula. Bosnian pines occur at this altitude too.
