Parco di Molentargius, Cagliari

Sardinia

The Parco di Molentargius is a coastal wetland sandwiched between Cagliari and Quartu Sant'Elena — one of the most accessible flamingo sites in Europe. Up to 10,000 greater flamingos feed in the lagoon; they are visible from the city tram. The old salt-pan buildings are now a museum of the 19th-century salt industry.
