The Parco Naturale delle Prealpi Giulie near Resia is the only park in Italy where Eurasian lynx is confirmed breeding — reintroduced in the 1970s into the Dinaric Alps and now expanding into Friuli. Brown bear crosses regularly from Slovenia. Wolf also confirmed. The Julian Pre-Alps have extraordinary karst landscapes and the Resia valley has a unique Slavic dialect. Golden eagle on the ridges.
