Where gravel was dug for post-war Milan, four lakes have filled the pits and the ground between them has grown into woodland, meadow and reedbed. Flat gravel paths loop the water past anglers, a restored farmstead and one of the city's biggest off-leash dog areas, with the Bosco in Città adjoining to the north.
