Once the Medici dairy farm ("cascine"), this 3 km green strip runs west from the city centre beside the Arno, with jogging paths, a Tuesday market, an amphitheatre, an Art Nouveau pavilion and the curious monument to an Indian maharaja cremated here in 1870. Flat, shaded and easy to reach on foot or tram.
