Fara San Martino — Majella Gorge

The Fara gorge cuts dramatically into the Majella massif above the town of Fara San Martino. The source of the Verde river — used since 1887 by the De Cecco pasta factory below — flows from high springs in the canyon walls. The gorge walk passes through limestone narrows to reach the open Majella uplands.
