The Sile river is the longest resurgence river in Europe — it rises entirely from groundwater springs (not glacier or rain) and flows 75 km to the Venice lagoon without ever being muddy. The Parco Naturale Regionale del Sile protects the river and its floodplain forest. Kingfisher, night heron and water rail breed. Otter was confirmed in 2019. The flat cycle and walking paths are ideal for dogs.
