Monte Conero — Spiaggia delle Tre Sorelle

Monte Conero (572 m) near Ancona is the only significant limestone headland on the entire Adriatic coast between Trieste and the Gargano. The white limestone cliffs drop to sea stacks and pebble beaches. Peregrine falcon, eagle owl and alpine swift nest on the cliffs. The Spiaggia delle Tre Sorelle ('beach of the three sisters') is accessible only on foot or by boat. Dolphins visible offshore in summer.
