Parco dei Colli Euganei, Este

The Colli Euganei near Este are a cluster of volcanic cones rising from the flat Po plain — the plugs of Eocene volcanoes. Petrarch spent his last years in Arquà Petrarca (one of Italy's most beautiful villages) on a volcanic hill. The hot springs (Terme Euganee) have been used since Roman times. Wild boar and roe deer in the forest. Olive groves produce IGT oil.
