Parco dei Colli di Bergamo

Lombardy

The regional park protects the green hills immediately behind Bergamo's walled upper town. A web of cobbled mule tracks (the "scorlazzini") climbs through woods and terraced gardens to San Vigilio castle, the Astino monastery and its restored valley of orchards and vines — all reachable on foot from the old city.
