Parco dell'Uccellina, Maremma

Tuscany

The Maremma Natural Park is the most intact coastal park in Tuscany, with Etruscan watchtowers on the hilltops, Maremmano wild horses on the beach and no roads in the park itself. Trail A1 descends through macchia to a long wild beach. The park is managed partly by the Butteri — Italy's original cowboys.
