Parco Adda Nord — Trezzo
Lombardy
The Adda river cuts a surprising gorge through the Lombardy plain at Trezzo. The towpath follows Leonardo da Vinci's naviglio (canal) engineering project — he designed the locks here in the 15th century. A medieval Visconti castle perches on the gorge edge. Kingfishers are resident on the undercut banks year-round.
