The Lago di Venere (Bagno dell'Acqua) is a shallow volcanic crater lake on the island of Pantelleria, heated by volcanic vents to 40–50°C. You can wade in the warm mineral water and coat yourself in green volcanic mud for a natural spa experience. The surrounding black lava landscape and dammusi (traditional Pantellerian houses) complete the extraordinary scenery.
