Padule di Fucecchio
Tuscany
The Padule is a remnant of the lake that once filled the Valdinievole, now a mosaic of open water, reed, wet meadow and willow crossed by embankments. Herons, purple herons, whiskered terns, harriers and huge flocks of migrants use it; the Le Morette reserve and the Castelmartini centre have hides and boardwalks.
