Pacentro & Sulmona Valley
Abruzzo
Sulmona is one of Abruzzo's finest medieval towns — Ovid (43 BC) was born here and the town has marked this ever since. The walk from Pacentro village down to Sulmona passes the medieval aqueduct and confetti (sugared almond) factories that have produced this speciality for 500 years. The Maiella massif frames the valley.
