Orrido di Foresto
Piedmont
Below the village of Chiomonte, the Dora Riparia has cut a deep, narrow ravine that the Orrido di Foresto trail crosses via suspended metal walkways bolted directly into the rock face. Waterfalls tumble between smoothed granite pools far below, and the surrounding slopes carry terraced vineyards typical of the lower Val di Susa. It's a short but vertiginous outing, popular with via ferrata enthusiasts as a warm-up route.
