Val Brembana Alta, Foppolo
Lombardy
The upper Val Brembana above Foppolo in the Orobie Bergamasche Regional Park is one of the most remote valleys in the Bergamo Alps. The ski resort below drops away quickly and the upper valley is virtually empty. Ibex (reintroduced 2005) graze the rocky ridges. Chamois are abundant. The valley head reaches the 2,500 m ridgeline into Valtellina. Golden eagle hunts the valley daily.
