The Oasi WWF di Guardialfiera on the Biferno reservoir near Larino is one of the finest birdwatching sites in southern Italy. European roller breeds (one of few Molise sites). Bee-eater colony in the sandy banks. White stork has bred since 2015. The reservoir dyke circuit is 5 km. Osprey and marsh harrier regular in migration. Dogs on leash only.
