Alzaia del Naviglio Grande

Lombardy

The Naviglio Grande has carried water and boats since the 12th century, and its "alzaia" haul-path is now a flat walking and cycling route lined with old courtyard houses, churches, the Ponte di Barche pontoon bridge and, further out, rice fields and the Ticino woods around Bernate and Boffalora.
