Murge di Noci — Lama d'Antico

Puglia

The Lama d'Antico near Noci is a classic Murge limestone canyon — dry in summer, running clear in winter — with walls of pale limestone and trulli-style shelters built by farmers over centuries. Prehistoric cave dwellings dot the canyon walls. Wild asparagus, capers and holm oak scrub line the path. The Murge plateau network of lame (dry canyons) is Puglia's finest walking country and almost entirely ignored by visitors.
