From Pizzone and the Le Forme meadows a long path climbs beech forest and then open rock to the Passo dei Monaci and the crest of the Monti della Meta, home to a herd of Apennine chamois. The ridge straddles three regions with a view over the Val di Comino and the Mainarde's serrated skyline.
